I've always loved art. When I was in middle school, I took watercolor painting lessons on the weekends. In high school, it was AP Art classes. I started college as a journalism major - I've always loved writing - but after taking a news reporting class, I quickly realized I was not cut out for that world.
But it was in one of those journalism classes that an employee of OU Student Media came to speak about opportunities to write and design for the Features Department. I applied, was granted an interview, and after a long, stressful and completely unnecessary search for my first business suit, got the opportunity to intern for Sooner Yearbook. That internship turned into a paid position, which eventually became several leadership/editor positions.
I had found my passion, the thing I enjoyed doing above all else, and something on which I knew I could build a rewarding career.
